This is how my eye frames are being made

Design, material and work flow: this is how I create new individual eye frames for you

Material: All of my frames are produced from cellulose acetatewhich is in most part cotton. The frames are anti-allergenic and very light weight. The base material can be shaped to numerous forms and rounded smoothly which makes acetate frames so comfortable to wear. All my frames comply to the european standard CE. Cellulose acetate is soluble by acetone and acetic acid. this is why my eye frames shouldn't be cleansed with any chemical cleaner. Just use a soft cloth to wipe the frame clean. Every now and then you can use water and a little bit of plain saop to clean, rinse properly. Techniques: Cellulose acetat is coloured and shaped into sheets. These sheets are the base from which the parts of the frames are cut out.
	Some sheets already have a structure with differently coloured particles. With modern CNC milling machines the raw frames forms are being cut out to match my designs. We have two different product lines : Traute Kain design: I design the eye frames and let them be produced by a german factory. After milling the frame parts are being ground to shine and can then directly be bought by you. Unique frames: I let the raw frames to be produced by a german factory and then colour them by hand with different colouring and painting techniques. This way each model is absolutely unique and no-one else will own eye wear like it. The colouring can be done in different work steps which are explained in the following:
These are the colouring and painting techniques I apply: Color ( C ) : By "dipping" the raw frame into differnetly coloured baths Ii create different colour gradients. Multicolor ( MC ): By covering different parts of the frame before dipping I produce drastically different colour changes. This techique can be applied several times until the final result is achieved. Batic ( B ): Quite similar to the batik dye technique I paint ornamentalls with wax onto the frame and then colour it. Later the wax is removed and the original colour re-appears in these Ornaments. This technique can also be applied several times. This way I can create wild patterns. At the end I remove all remaining wax and polish the frames
	Ethno ( E ): This describes a technique where I mill lines and ornaments into the frame. These milling lines or milling recesses can later be filled with different colours and the colours don't flow into each other. This allows for strong seperated colours. Art ( A ): Here I cut and apply figures from foil to the frame and then colour it. later the foil is removed and the figures stand out in the original fram colour. Brush (BR): Here the complete frame is hand painted with any motive you desire! Of course I also combine the different techniques to generate even more interesting results.
